What we see every day is just an illusion and it will eventually disappear from our life in the end. Sutra of the Heart from Buddha’s scriptures clearly states that “Form” is the body itself and the body itself is emptiness. The “Naked Body” presented here represents the “Form” and the Emptiness”; the “Naked Body” is no other than Emptiness and the Emptiness is nothing more than the “Naked Body.” “Pornographic thoughts” emerge when most people see a Naked Body. As a matter of fact, this is the thought that I would like to use for this series of work. I would like to shout aloud that our Body, in the end, would also be gone with the wind, which is, the “Emptiness.” The pornographic thoughts that we have associated with the Naked Body derives from our desire! Man’s nature at birth is good. All the desires and thoughts come from our greed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have purposely placed partial Chinese characters in my work “The Sutra. The Heart” as one element in the design. The meaning of the Chinese character corresponds to the work itself. As the “Naked Body” is gradually enlarged, I intend to take advantage of the shocking visual effect to deliver the result of “Emptiness.” We are too focused on what we see and what we think. However, we forget about the fact that man’s nature at birth is good. All the thoughts that we have merely mirrors the greed within ourselves. The “square” in the work represents the interference from the view-points in society. On the other hand, it also constitutes the completeness and the harmony of this series of work (life).
